Tax Returns
The BDC served as a United Way VITA Site (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), preparing tax returns at no cost to taxpayers, allowing them to keep 100% of their refunds.
The site was operational three days a week from February through April and was run by BDC staff, volunteers from Christ Methodist and First Horizon, alongside a United Way site coordinator.
A remote review of the BDC tax site was performed by the IRS and received a grade of 100%. Taxpayers were overwhelmingly pleased with the level of professionalism and customer service.
