The BDC Christmas Store gives parents in the Binghampton community the opportunity to shop for quality toys at an affordable price — every gift is priced between $1 and $5. Just as importantly, the store creates paid seasonal employment that empowers residents and builds real job skills. We make it all possible through the generosity of donors who give the toys that fill our shelves.

Since 2010, the Christmas Store has been about more than gifts. By hiring residents and welcoming families to shop for themselves, we replace the charity line with an empowering shopping experience — and put wages back into the neighborhood.
When the season ends, extra toys go to neighborhood schools to use as incentives for their students, extending the impact well past the holidays.
